Benedetti Architects was formed by Renato Benedetti after 20 years of award-winning success as McDowell+Benedetti Architects. The chartered practice continues to further its established international reputation for design excellence in an unusually diverse range of projects across different types and scales including urban design and masterplanning, arts and cultural buildings, bridges, healthcare, education, commercial and residential properties.

He has led a serious of high profile regeneration projects in the UK and abroad. Born and educated in Canada, Renato was a stonemason and bricklayer before studying Architecture and Environmental Studies at the University of Waterloo. He began his career working for practices in Canada and Italy, and worked for BDP and YRM UK Ltd in London.

Renato Benedetti’s public profile includes roles on Design Review Panels in London for Southwark, Wandsworth, Lewisham, and he is one of Design Council CABE’s national Built Environment Experts. He is also an RIBA client advisor and competition judge, is on The Architecture Club committee and was a founding committee member of the London Festival of Architecture. He lectures and teaches in the UK and abroad.
